Trauma Informed Yoga Retreats

Join us for meditation, trauma informed yoga, healing, hiking, swimming and relaxation at Ojas Retreat Center in Temecula, CA June and August, 2024. All practices are led by Mary Ortenburger, LMFT, RYT-500 and yoga therapist in training (graduation November 2023).

Or join us in July, 2024 when we will be hosting an Emotionally Focused Couples Yoga Retreat, trauma informed. Space is available to 6 couples for partner lodging (private rooms with both ensuite bathroom options (3 spots) and shared bathroom options (3 spots). This retreat is led by Mary Ortenburger, LMFT, EFT Couples Therapist, RYT-500 and yoga therapist in training (graduation November, 2023).

Scheduled 2024 Retreats

    • 3PM arrival time on Friday and departure at 11 am Sunday
  • August 23rd-25th, 2024 – Trauma Informed Couples’ Yoga Retreat 
    • 3PM arrival time on Friday and departure at 11 am Sunday

Retreat Itinerary:

Trauma Informed Individual Retreat: June

Day 1:

  • Arrival and Grounding/Arrival and Welcome:
  • Afternoon 3pm
    • Opening Circle: Group gathers in a circle for introductions, setting intentions, and establishing a safe and supportive space.
    • Gentle Yoga Flow: A slow-paced yoga session focusing on grounding poses, with emphasis on breathwork and mindful movement.
    • Dinner and Rest: A nutritious meal followed by quiet time for rest or reflection.
    • Guided Meditation and Breathwork: A session focused on calming the nervous system and creating a sense of safety in the body.
    • Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra: Gentle, restorative poses followed by a guided Yoga Nidra meditation for deep relaxation.

Day 2: Deepening Awareness and Self-Compassion

  • Morning:
    • Mindful Movement and Meditation: A session combining gentle yoga poses with mindful meditation.
    • Optional Hike
    • Breakfast
    • Journaling and Reflection: Guided prompts for journaling, exploring feelings, and reflecting on the journey.
  • Afternoon
    • Heart Opening Yoga: A gentle practice focusing on opening the heart space and cultivating self-compassion.
    • Lunch and Free Time
  • Evening:
    • Trauma-Informed Workshop: An educational workshop on understanding trauma and its effects on the body and mind.
    • Dinner: A shared meal with opportunities for connection and community.
    • Guided Compassion Meditation and Sound Healing Session: A meditation session focused on cultivating compassion for oneself and others.
    • Trauma-Sensitive Sharing Circle in Community
    • A safe space for participants to share their experiences and feelings, if they wish.

Day 3: Integration and Closing

  • Integrative Yoga Practice:  A practice that integrates the work done over the retreat, focusing on bringing awareness to the present moment.
  • Breakfast
  • Closing Circle Practice: Reflecting on the retreat, sharing gratitude, and discussing ways to continue the practices at home.

COUPLES RETREAT – August 2024

 

Day 1: Arrival and Establishing Connection

  • Arrival and Welcome 3PM.
    • Welcoming participants, helping them get settled in, and encouraging informal interaction.
    • Opening Circle and Icebreakers: A group gathering to introduce the program, set intentions, and participate in connection-focused icebreakers.
    • Partner Yoga: Guided yoga session with poses that encourage teamwork, synchronization, and physical connection.
    • Dinner and Rest: A healthy and nourishing meal followed by some downtime.
  • Evening
    • Emotional Intelligence Workshop: Teaching and discussing emotional intelligence, its role in relationships, and how to communicate effectively.
    • Guided Meditation for Connection: A meditation session focused on cultivating feelings of love, empathy, and connection.
    • Connection Ritual and Sharing Circle: A guided ritual to deepen emotional connection, followed by an optional sharing circle for couples to express their thoughts and feelings.

Day 2: Deepening Emotional Intimacy

  • Morning
    • Mindful Breathing and Meditation: A session to start the day with calmness and presence.
    • Optional Hike
    • Breakfast
    • Communication Workshop: A workshop on effective and compassionate communication, including active listening and expressing needs.
  • Afternoon
    • Empathy Building Activities: Engaging activities designed to enhance empathy and understanding between partners.
    • Lunch and Free Time
  • Evening
    • Vulnerability and Trust-Building Session: Guided exercises and discussions to foster vulnerability and trust.
    • Dinner
    • Partner Massage Workshop: Thai Yoga Massage for Relaxation and Connection, teaching basic massage techniques for relaxation and connection.

Day 3: Integration and Farewell

  • Morning
    • Gratitude and Appreciation Practice: Exercises and meditations to cultivate gratitude and appreciation for one’s partner.
    • Breakfast
    • Closing Circle and Commitment Ceremony: A ceremony for couples to express their commitment and gratitude, and to share their experience of the retreat.
  • Farewell and Departure 11AM 

 

Retreat Cost:

Trauma Informed Retreats: $1,100 per person.
$600 non-refundable deposit due upon sign up, full payment due by:

  • March 21st, 2024 for June retreat
  • April 26th for August retreat

Emotionally Focused Couples Yoga Retreat, Trauma Informed

  • $2,450 per couple for ensuite bathroom (private room)
    • Deposit: $1,300 upon sign up
    • $1,150 due April 26th, 2024.
  • $2,200 per couple for shared bathroom (private room)
    • Deposit: $1,100 upon sign up
    • $1,150 due by April 26th, 2024.
